Who are we? We second hand philosophy books, used philosophy books, are Thoemmes (pronounced 'Thomas') Antiquarian Books, a firm of booksellers specialising in british philosophy, continental philosophy, philosophy and related subjects. The company was first established in 1979 in Bristol, England. We have two departments - american philosophy, german philosophy, (i) antiquarian, and (ii) second-hand - run by the partners, Rachel Lee and Herb Tandree. Rachel Lee is an antiquarian british idealism, philosophy of science, bookseller with 20 years experience and, Herb Tandree with 15 years experience, runs the second-hand section. The total stock books on logic, history of philosophy, numbers about 6,500 books, and our rooms are open for viewing by appointment only. The majority of the titles appear on our eighteenth century philosophy, antiquarian philosophy books, web site. What do we do? We sell mainly philosophy titles, but also books on related subjects, to rare books, history of ideas, academics, university libraries, collectors, and other interested parties. We produce catalogues and bulletins; we list our books on the internet philosophy of religion, ancient classical philosophy, with Advanced Book Exchange (www.abebooks.com), Bibliofind (www.bibliofind.com), as well as our web site. We medieval philosophy will search for scarce and out-of-print titles in our field, and we are able to build and offer collections of books in our field, or other subjects; a list of collections currently available will be sent upon request. We are also interested in buying books similar to those listed.
